Jim Fitzpatrick: TCM, acupuncture, taiji qigong practitioner
Jim's interest in Taoist arts spans more than forty years and many teachers. It was observations and experiences in tai chi and qigong that inspired him to study traditional Chinese medicine. Following undergraduate Health Studies at the University of Waterloo, Jim received a Master of Science from Samra University of Oriental Medicine in 1995. Certified nationally (US) in 1994 and licensed in California in 1995, he interned in China in '95/'96, including at Beijing TCM hospital before it was opened to foreign students. More recently, Jim studied at Yo San University, receiving a clinical doctorate in integrative medicine, healthy aging, and longevity, with a thesis on TCM research methodology. In 1999/00, Jim helped establish the first comprehensive acupuncture program in Toronto at the Toronto School of TCM. He has taught qigong and medical qigong at schools in Toronto, Los Angeles, and Hawaii. In private practice in downtown Toronto, he is also on faculty as well as a clinical supervisor at two schools. Jim has been consistently practicing and teaching all aspects of tai chi chuan for more than thirty years and his passion for the Taoist healing arts is undiminished.

Ayurvedic lifestyle has been a way of life for Kanchan since her childhood. This has been a family tradition for many generations. Growing up, Kanchan kept observing all the benefits that this lifestyle presents and that piqued her own interest in the subject. She became certified as a Yoga Therapist at the young age of 20. She has been a resident yoga therapist in many old age homes, addiction centers and women's rehab centers around the Greater Toronto area.
In the meantime, Kanchan actively pursued her studies and research in Ayurveda and became certified as an Ayurvedic Practitioner. She now consults people to manage various ailments through proper nutrition, ayurvedic remedies and yoga, pranayama and meditation techniques. Kanchan is a visiting Ayurveda faculty in BITTS (Brampton Institute of Trades, Technology and Sciences) and holds monthly workshops throughout the GTA educating people on the benefits of Ayurveda and living an Ayurvedic Lifestyle. Kanchan also owns a brand of Ayurvedic Skin Care products called Dewy Naturals where people can buy all natural ayurvedic formulations to help achieve a glowing complexion. When Kanchan finds time out of her busy schedule, she dabs her hands in painting and is a known Visual Artist in the GTA with many exhibitions to her credit.
