Experiences

Experiences you can have inside the property.

The Creek

The property features a branch of the Saugeen River called Black’s Creek, which is a habitat of wild flowers, dragonflies, bees, and small fish, and the source of drinking water for all the wild life, from deer, to raccoons, porcupine, and all others. The water is clean, cool, and clear, and the current is tranquil at the property.

Water current gets faster along the way toward the west through the creek; since waterways do not belong to anyone, it is legally safe to travel on the water, some like to do tubing.

Tubing can be dangerous and we have not done it ourselves, but if you are ready for this adventure, you can enjoy tubing in New Earth Estate creek. Male sure to bring your own tubing gear, you also will need to sign a consent form, as we won't be liable for your safety.

Tobogganing                                                           $110.00

Tobogganing is a fun activity in snow season for kids or adults; not only it keeps you warm, but also benefits your heart, lungs, muscles, joints, and even your brain.

Cardiovascular benefits

Have you ever noticed that you are a little short of breath after climbing up a hill

while pulling a sled behind you? This phenomenon can be attributed to that shorter duration burst of physical activity followed by the rest at the top (and of course sliding back down). Doing repeated bursts of higher intensity physical activity followed by a period of rest is known in fitness literature as interval training.

This form of exercise improves the health of your cardiovascular system (heart, lungs and blood vessels). Just remember, the key is to take enough time to recover and catch your breath at the top of the hill before plummeting back down and repeating the cycle!

Muscular benefits

Climbing hills makes us use our hip extensors, knee extensors and ankle plantar flexors (Glutes, quads and calf muscles in other words).

These muscles are also used for walking and running under normal circumstances. Many athletes will use hill and stair climbing to strengthen these muscle groups for athletic performance. Tobogganing just makes this form of training a lot of fun at the same time.

Bones and joints

All physical activity strengthens our bones as well as the connective tissue and cartilage (smooth lining) in our joints. These benefits are enhanced by adding “resistance.” In the case of tobogganing, we are resistance training by carrying the load of a sled up the hill or by simply working against the resistance of gravity by carrying with the weight of our own body uphill.

Brain

When we exercise, our body produces chemicals called endorphins. When an increased level of endorphins circulate in our brain, we experience pain relief, pleasure and a sense of well-being. Remember to wear appropriate, clothing such as warm ski cloths, gloves, and hats. We provide the sleds or you can bring your own we have two sites for this great activity.

On a Tobogganing experience you can bring your own sled, buy, or rent it from us, After the exercise we will serve some fire brewed tea, or hot apple cider while you are relaxing in the spa facility, next you can sit by the fire in a tipi to have your vegetarian/vegan meal, that accommodates food preferences or allergies.
